It is Wednesday again, so it's BUTTON DAY on my blog !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a friend of a friend who likes strolling on flea markets, and when he heard of my button mania he decided to have a look around for buttons (which I did not know). Suddenly this friend of a friend sent me this huge button parcel ! I am so thrilled. Especially, the buttons on the cartons are splendid; they were sewn on by a German girl with the name Helga Meyer in 1965, when she was at a vocational school for seamstresses in southern Germany (the text is still readable). I give you lots of pictures !
Have you seen a lovely, beautiful, stunning, crazy button or button-related thingy, or did you make something with a button / buttons, or did you even make buttons yourself, blog about it on your blog on Wednesday, and give the link here in the comments so that everybody can enjoy it !!
I accidentally fell into button collecting when I couldn't resist a great sale with brand new cards of button going for 25 cents at Joann's about 7 years ago. My kids found vintage buttons by the jar last Christmas that were so much fun I went back and bought more. Now I just need to find more ways to use all of them.
ReplyDeleteI am green with envy ;;-)
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about buttons .... Did you see the button eye parents in the film "Coraline" ?
ReplyDeleteTo unwrap this parcel must have been such a trill Petronella! Enjoy your new collection...

It's a precious collection!
ReplyDeleteI am so envious! I am collecting buttons for small projects but I can only get buttons from the mall and they are a little expensive. Even those plain plastic ones *sigh*.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Creating Success Around the World blog hop! Thanks for linking and hope to see you there again next week!

What a wonderful surprise ! And the needlework's students cards are particularly fine .... they give that contact with the past that is always so special !
ReplyDeleteOh, how nice to have such thoughtful friends of friends! I love buttons too, mostly if there's a lot that I can let run through my fingers and sort into different categories! ^^
ReplyDeleteWow - what an amazing haul of buttons!!!
