I suddenly came across these lovely button plates and found out that they were from Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk.

Kiki is designing carpets, furniture, glasses, tiles, lamps, vases, towels etc. She uses old and new techniques and applies them often in a very unexpected way, which makes her designs always playful. These button plates are inspired by a box of buttons Kiki found belonging to her grandma; she found all the subtle variations in the different white tones and finishings very appealing. She has also designed button table clothes and button towels. I am dreaming of a Xmas dinner with such cloth and plates on the table.....
