Button Wednesday : Pillows II

It is Wednesday again, so it's BUTTON DAY on my blog. It would be great if you could do the same; make your Wednesday a button day too. Have you seen a lovely, beautiful, stunning, crazy button or button-related thingy, or did you make something with a button / buttons, or did you even make buttons yourself, blog about it on your blog on Wednesday, and give the link here via Mister Linky at the end of this post.

When I saw this beautiful linen pillow covered with mother of pearl buttons by Comfy Heaven on Artfire, I was thrilled. The simplicity and the beauty of this pillow is stunning. I am going to make one for myself when the renovation of the living room is ready. You can buy it of course at Artfire, or try to make one yourself with the following excellent tutorial from Erika Kern at craftstylish.

JoJo and his crew make recycled wire products. Most of his team are refugees from Zimbabwe and work together in their work shop just out of Cape Town. Their button pillows are hand crocheted in copper wire including buttons.

This pillow gave my mathematical mind a jump of joy; it's one of the beautiful Indian cushion covers from Shara.

And this pillow gave my creative mind a jump of joy ! It's made by Angela Cheadle's daughter DD.

This pillow reminded me of my own button art work. The buttons are not sewn together as I usually do, but the appearance of the little mat in the middle let me think of my own button mats. You can make it yourself with this fantastic tutorial by Ashley from "Make It and Love It".

And then I found a lot of pillows with button stripes or lines; this grey silk one with mother of pearl buttons by Urvi Agrawal at Robin Street Market is one of my favourites.

And I absolutely adore the boldness of the design and the colours of this Bolt Holes Buttons Cushion by Nadia Sparham at dotmaison.

This beige cushion has only one simple stripe with large wooden buttons; very effective ! It is in a lovely selection of cushions by Kumpal Mittal at shaadi times.

And a similar idea, but with a completely different effect is this single stripe pillow from ecoweaves in Scotland. Their pillows are made from recycled woollens which have been colour-sorted, then shredded and re-spun, and trims include kilt offcuts and re-used buttons.

!!!!!!!!!! If you have something for The Button Wednesday, give Mister Linky your name and the link to your button post !!!!!!!!!!!!!
